Chasing Tone. The Journy was my destination.

Somewhere north of 35 years ago I started chasing tone. My first guitar was a very used Aria Pro II Warrior from a small shop outside of Seattle. I didn’t know it then but that guitar would lead me on a lifelong journey of discovery, craftsmanship, and passion for instruments that you just can’t put down.

Inspired by devotion to the craft

I’ve played, measured, and studied just about every vintage instrument that I can get my hands on.  I have even had the opportunity to closely study two 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard Burst.  I learned to build as a player first, not focused on ease of manufacture, but the sound in my head and the feel in my hands.  Techniques borrorwed from old guard and new have inspired the design and function of my electric guitars.  My hope as a luthier is to bring the best construction and manufacturing techniques of the cherished and rare holy grail instruments to a new generation of players at a price that any teenager with a summer job can afford.

Wood Matters…
Ethically sourced and sustainable forest practices don’t just make a better guitar, they make a better world!
I personally select each piece of lumber that goes into my guitars from local suppliers. Clearly Mahogany does not grow in Oregon, but my suppliers are rigorous in finding ethically harvested trees from around the globe as well as reclaimed wood (this is the good stuff) when we can get it.
